Neko-Cursed! Romano x Reader
Summary: You were dropped off at the wrong town because the train messed up on your ticket. You even lost your suitcase in the process and to top it off, a random cat on two-legs talked to you. What could go wrong?

A/N: Minor pairing moments if you squint, but it's only you and Romano as the official one in this story. I remember Italy's "Ve's" and not China's "Aru's?" WHHHY?

P.S. I apologize for the ending part.

Into the Wild

Chapter 2

"No, I do not lick myself nor do I let others!" You yelled out.

The brushy-brow cat looked startled by the outburst, but he nodded apologetically. He helped you clean up and lectured you on how he was merely a cat and nudity wasn't a problem for his eyes. You stared at him until he gave in and left the house so you could put on your clean clothes from your satchel. Who knows why you carried around the extras, but it was helpful.

You opened the door and saw the furry one whistling and sitting on the grass, drinking tea. You coughed innocently to grab his attention and surely enough, he turned his head casually and smiled.

"Are you dressed?" He asked and his green pupils shrunk with embarrassment. "All that bickering and we never used each others name before. How ungentlemanly of me! My name is England and who are you?"

"I'm _____." You replied. You relaxed your guard in a way, but you still held some suspicion.

He nodded at you, and sipped his tea. "It's a cat instinct of mine. I should say cats are common in these parts. Well, about the whole incident about cleaning." He looked at you curiously. "Why were you digging outside? Never mind the shovel part, but why?"

"Oh, this China bear happened to leave a present in my new house." You said, thinking about poor ole Bessie. "Did someone else happen to live here before?"

"Well..." He hesitated for a moment, his brows furrowed in thought, trying to think of a lie or truth. "There was one person, but it was years ago."

"Really?" You were intrigued by another human here. "What was her name?"

England cocked his head. "How'd you know it was a female?"

"Lucky guess?"

He stared at you for a moment, but shrugged, giving up on testing you. "Yes, she existed. Her name was (Random name here)."

"Ah." You thought the name had a nice ring, but you grew a bit nervous. "What happened to her?"

"The Mayor, Germany, sends them home when a resident feels threatened by a human presence. You see, some of us struggle to handle having humans around."

"I see."

"Yes. I'm sorry if the Mayor kicks you out, no hard feelings." More tea was sipped.

You nodded and turned your head towards the direction away from the house. "I-I better get going."

"Very well," England said wistfully. "If you ever want to talk, you'll know where to find me."

"Okay, thank you England."

You walked off and found yourself with the beach.

...

You never knew how, but the ocean made you feel at peace and your aura felt serene. The breeze and the waft of salt filled your senses with a longing for home. You suddenly felt guilty for leaving behind your family all for a possibly non-existent brother. The thought made you wonder how they were doing.

The smell of your favorite food filled the air and you spun around, and noticed another house nearby. You blinked, thinking it belonged to England again, but the smell of burtnt food was in his house. This had a fresh scent.

"Ciao~!"

You were startled by the noise, but you slowly came to your senses as you heard the familiar voice and a content purring noise following afterwards.

"Italy?"

"Si, and I see it's you,____!"  He cheered, but you noticed his expression was grim earlier, but switched to a more happier look. His eyes were squinted so you couldn't tell about his actual mood.

"It's good seeing you too, Italy." You grinned and walked over towards him. You sniffed the air. "What are you cooking? It smells good."

"Pasta~!" He said and beamed at the thought of cooking his favorite dish. "Would you like to stay for a bit?"

Your stomach answered for you and he chuckled.

"Ve? Well, follow me~ Don't worry, I don't bite."

He led you into the house where it was small, but strangely comforting. The walls were a light brown color with dark browns marked all over. There was two beds stuck together and a feral kitty sleeping in a cozy bed. You made your way to the table and felt the beige surface with the tips of your hand as if it were a fragile glass statue. You slowly sat down and watched the humanoid cat bring a plate over.

The pasta made your mouth salivate as the steam stormed into your nostrils and the looks of it made it look rich with flavor. You managed to keep your eye off the smell in England's house, but the home made you feel nervous again. It was enough your face turned sour and Italy looked sad, unsure of why you suddenly looked down.

"Did I cook it wrong, bella? I'm sorry if I did!" He started to panic and made up excuses for his cooking skills.

"Italy!" You interrupted, sternly, but not rudely. "It's not about your food at all. It actually looks really good!"

He looked relieved and beamed at the compliment.

"I was just wondering about...other humans, that's all."

His smiled faded the moment you brought it up and felt fearful he would be the same where he would casually tell you about Bessie. Instead, he shook his head and sighed. "It's nothing, really. It's best you try not to look further into our history."

"Why not?" You asked. "If I am to be living here for who knows how long, shouldn't I know a little bit so I'm cautious?"

"Ve... It's a long story. I'm afraid I can't share it though. The Mayor forbids it." He said and you could hear the truth in it.

"Oh." You said through mouthfuls of noodles in your mouth. "What can I know?"

He looked seriously at you, which you hardly expected from a cheerful one like him, but his eyes opened wide with fear written all over them when a knock on the door interrupted the conversation. "I...Bella, it would be good if you stay behind me." He hissed through his teeth.

You didn't know what was going on, but you obeyed him by the looks of him. His expression turned weary and he nearly flinched at the door was banged harder.

"IDIOTA! Idiota! Open up this damn door!"

You winced at the fury in the newcomer's voice and you could feel the chills running down Italy's back. Great. Both of you were terrified of Godzilla breaking into your house.

"Stay quiet. Please, bella?" Italy whispered and you nodded to his relief.

The door was slammed against the inside of the house as a dull-brown furred cat breathed heavily through his nose and his eyes blazed with anger. He stormed into the house and the warmth of Italy's fur was yanked away as was the cat himself who found himself in a grip.

His cold stare (stranger as it looked like Italy's face) turned onto you when he took his moment to inspect you and intimidate in the process.

"P-Please, fratello! A-I can explain!" Italy wailed, flailing his arms.

"Bastard." He grumbled before his voice rose. "Why did you bring a human here? I told you they're nothing but lying, no-good pink-skins."

You looked offended by the insult, but you said nothing. Your brows furrowed and your fists were clenched in anger at Italy's mistreatment. He stared at you again and shook his head, ignoring the prettiness of your appearance, and turned his attention upon his twin.

"You're lucky Germany didn't follow me. No, this stupid brother was waiting for me instead, but I dealt with it and came alone. Of course, you brought the human along." He continued on, ignoring the tears.

The newcomer trembled, but he finally let go of his brother. "No tears. No tears. Don't cry, Veneziano."

Italy sniffed, trying his hide his saddened face with his paws, but his gaze turned upon you and mouth "Run" before it focused on his brother.

You were too stunned by everything and the urge to run screamed inside the back of your head. While the older cat was occupied, thanks to Italy's attempts to calm himself down and his sadness (which you felt guilty for), you sneaked out of the house and made a mad dash for it.

Your house appeared to be normal without any pranksters vandalizing your home. You made a face knowing what the inside would look like, but you lost a lot of taste after your day. You thought about taking up a job at China's place, but you felt you needed to avoid this Mayor as well if he meant trouble.

The log was still next to your house, on the opposite side of the mailbox and he held a neutral expression. The wiggling animation he did quickened as you approached and then his black eyes blinked and asked you how your day was - nearly like a robot.

"Terrible." You mumbled. "Just make it night-time and I'll cry myself to sleep."

Very well,___. Enter the house.
No idea why I updated so quickly :iconimetexcaliburplz:

I needed some motivation to break through the writer's block for my story on NaNoWriMo.

FYI: The log thing is a Gyroid or whatever it's called. The bad jokes you can make from his animation... Well, I just added him just to be weird and silly.
